The Goethe-Institut is excited to continue the \u2018Jazz@Goethe\u2019 concert series with bassist Zo\u00eb Jorgenson. This edition of Jazz@Goethe is co-presented with the Washington Women in Jazz Festival. The concert is on Sunday 3\/26, beginning at 2:00pm.<\/p>\n
This series continues in the spirit of the DC Public Library\u2019s \u2018Jazz in the Basement\u2019 series, which the Goethe-Institut co-hosted for several years in its previous location on K street. We are very happy to revive the tradition of bringing jazz to the historic U street corridor, where jazz greats such as Duke Ellington once thrived!<\/p>\n
Washington Women in Jazz Festival\u00a0<\/strong>is thrilled to present bassist, vocalist, and composer,\u00a0Zo\u00eb Jorgenson<\/strong>. In addition to being a favorite of the WWJF 2018 Emerging Artist Showcase, Zo\u00eb continues to be an in-demand bassist for a wide range of DC area bands. A Las Vegas native, Zo\u00eb has a style that encapsulates jazz, improvised music and elements of indie and folk music. She is currently located in the DMV area and loves performing, composing, teaching and arranging. She will be performing a mixture of jazz standards, and original compositions based on improvised music accompanied by her trio.<\/p>\n Zoe Jorgenson (bass, vocals) Wine will be served.
